We also specialise in all aspects of forestry including harvesting, low ground compression work, replant and general woodland management in conjunction with Forestry Commission guidelines.

About Us
Notts Forestry & Firewood has over 14 years experience in forestry and sustainable fuels. We work and distribute from our premises in Nottinghamshire supplying high quality barn stored hardwood and softwood logs.
We are also a supplier of softwood kindling.
All our firewood is sourced from local estates and farms most of it being harvested manually.
We choose this method over mechanical harvesting to keep disturbance in woodland to a minimum. It is then extracted using low ground compression machinery.
Our haulier then moves the firewood to our premises where it is processed and seasoned naturally to a moisture content of 20% or below.
The moisture content is carefully monitored to ensure we distribute clean burning firewood with a high heat output.

What is Ready to Burn?
The Government's Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) appointed HETAS and Woodsure to run the Ready to Burn fuel certification scheme.
The scheme makes it easy for people to find the cleanest fuels for burning at home. Using fuels that are approved and labelled as Ready to Burn also means it's easy to comply with Air Quality (Domestic Solid Fuels Standards) (England) Regulations 2020 that outlaw the sale of wet wood and housecoal, which are the most polluting fuels.
All our firewood is sourced standing from sustainable woodlands managed in conjunction with Forestry Commission guidelines.
The wood is harvested by ourselves and transported to our premises by a local haulier.
Our firewood is cut using a Posch S350 firewood processor. This produces a high quality product uniform in length.The logs are then graded and stored in vented bags undercover to naturally season.
All our Wood is selected from renewable resources to ensure a sustainable future for the environment, and for you the customer
